What happens during a Family Weekend at Hurricane Island?

Fun and adventure for the whole family! This program invites families to explore rustic, partially wild Hurricane Island, take an island history hike, learn about coastal ecology from our educators, experience hands-on aquaculture and lobstering, hear about forward-thinking sustainability practices on Hurricane. These optional programs are interspersed with family free time to swim, hike, explore, and enjoy island life at your own pace.

Please note that children under the age of 12 should be supervised by an adult family member at all times.

Who can come?

Families with children of all ages
This event has limited spaces so register now!

Where do we stay?

Families are housed together as a unit in the bunkhouse, in one of our cabins, or in our yurt. We are not able to make any promises, but please indicate your housing preference to help us determine placement. Families assigned to the bunkhouse share a spacious room with bunk beds, separate from other families

Please bring your own sleeping bags and pillows, as we do not provide bedding.

Food allergies

We regularly accommodate a variety of dietary requirements, and are happy to discuss ways we can ensure that you and your family are provided full meals that meet your needs.

Pets

Unfortunately we cannot allow family weekend participants to bring pets at this time.
