CONVERGENCE: Art Meets Science
CONVERGENCE is a new initiative that explores how art and science shape perception. Through conversations, workshops, and events, Hurricane Island is engaging artists and scientists in dialogue about how each of these practices ask us to pay attention to the world around us.
Part of the initiative was an art event inviting 40 artists to make original works inspired by Hurricane Island. These works were available for purchase in an online auction and on display at Pascal Hall in Rockport with a final show and benefit event at Pascal Hall.

June Launch Was A Success!
Artists, supporters and scientists joined us for this kickoff event on Hurricane Island. Marine biologist Dr. Bob Steneck and artist and activist Krisanne Baker discussed the importance of art and science in a recorded symposium with our attendees. Carl Little, author of the recently published ‘Art of Penobscot Bay’, and artist Eric Hopkins addressed the group over drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
